Kidepo valley national park   is renowned for its breathtaking scenery, with rolling hills, vast plains, and towering mountain ranges creating a dramatic landscape. The Park is home to an incredible array of wildlife, including many species found nowhere else in Uganda.

Kidepo is Uganda’s most isolated national park and also the most magnificent, a savannah landscape extends far beyond the gazetted area, towards horizons outlined by distant mountain ranges. The park boasts over 80 species of mammals, including lions, leopards, elephants, giraffes, and zebras. The park is also a birdwatcher’s paradise, with over 470 species of birds recorded, including the iconic ostrich and secretary bird.                                                                                                    A visit to the Karamojong homesteads will give you a glimpse into their pastoral lifestyles, partake of the food, join the dancing, and purchase the crafts like knives, arrows, jewellery, and stools.

Getting to Kidepo valley national park   

The park is accessible by road or air, with regular flights from Entebbe International Airport to the park’s airstrip.  The most direct route, through Gulu to Lokumoit Gate, is about 600km/373 mi and takes about 10 hours. while air flights take about 2hrs.        Kidepo valley national park is a true gem of Uganda’s natural heritage, offering an unforgettable experience for visitors.
