In this article I will discuss Wildlife Parks in Uganda where you can see Zebras in Uganda. These are the places where tourists can see zebras while on safari in Uganda.
Facts About Zebras in Uganda
Zebras are found in two National Parks in Uganda. The Karamoja located Kidepo Valley National Park and the Lake Mburo National Park in Western Uganda.
Zebras In Lake Mburo National Park
Lake Mburo national park is situated 187.6 kilo metres away from Entebbe International Airport. By road the park can be accessed through Kampala, Masaka – Mbarara Highway.
Averagely, Lake Mburo National park is a four Hour Drive from Entebbe with a health break of 20 minutes.
For tourists with limited time or those who want to combine Zebra with primates, Lake Mburo National Park might prove the best place to view Zebras in Uganda.
For travelers heading to Rwenzori Mountains National Park, Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park and Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, Lake Mburo can be added in as either a stop over, or sleep over.
Zebras In Kidepo Valley National Park
Although Kidepo Valley National Park is the most remote National Park in Uganda, the park boasts of being the best places in Uganda where you can see Zebras on the vast Savanna Plains.
Here you can see the Plains or Burchell Zebras (also in Lake Mburo National Park). The Zebras here live in small family groups. The different families can however be seen as a collective large “stripped” herd.
Their stripped skin make such a beautiful sight to see as they graze away on pure green savanna grass. For photograph lovers the zebras will make your visit to Lake Mburo or Kidepo Valley National Park very memorable.
