This tour introduces you to the country’s turbulent history, beautiful scenery and wonderful wildlife. You’ll track mountain gorillas in Volcanoes National Park, unwind by Lake Kivu and see the landscape from up high on a forest canopy walk. The tour begins in Kigali, Rwanda’s capital, where you can visit the Genocide Education Centre to learn more about the country’s turbulent recent history. Travellers come from far and wide to catch a glimpse of the magnificent gorillas in the Virungas, Wildlife in the Akagera National park and beach holidays to Lake Kivu. At Lake Kivu you’ll be able to enjoy the stunning scenery.

Day one – ARRIVAL
Here our guide will be waiting for you at Kanombe international airport, meet and greet then transfer to the hotel. (Kalisimbi hotel or Serena Kigali for Upgrade BB). Depending on your time of arrival, we will take you through the beautiful Kigali as you are guided and brief about your trip. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day two – TRANSFER TO VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK
Morning breakfast, visit the magnificent genocide memorial site and the presidential palace museum. Then later visit the spectacular Kigali Convention Centre (on condition that you did not do it on the arrival day). After our city tour, we will drive to Volcano national park and check in at Kinigi guest house or Gorilla Nest Lodge for upgrade for dinner and overnight.

Day Three – GORILLA TREKKING – POSSIBILITY TO DRIVE BACK TO KIGALI IF COMPLETED BEFORE 4PM
Very early morning breakfast and transfer to the briefing Centre where you will meet other trekkers and be briefed by the range on the whole activity. This day is dedicated to the Gorilla Tracking experience. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day Four: TRANSFER TO AKAGERA NATIONAL PARK
Check out, morning breakfast drive to Kigali arriving in time for lunch, then continue to the Park headquarters of Akagera.This takes about 2 and half hours with chances of sighting wildlife such as Zebras grazing, waterbucks, Cape buffaloes, Giraffes and impalas as you enter the park. We will check in at the lodge. All meals at the hotel and overnight. (Akagera Lodge - FB)

Day Five: FULL DAY IN AKAGERA N.P
This day will bring you face to face with Rwanda’s best wildlife sighting. We will have early breakfast and we embark on full day of wildlife experience, we travel to northern end of this park as we enjoy the nature and beauty of this magnificent park, have lunch in the plains and enjoy nature. Here we may be able to see Elands, Giraffes, Buffaloes and many others.
This park also offers a chance of the big five since the rhinos and lions have been introduced to this beautiful conservation area. Lunch then afternoon embark on an afternoon boat ride at Lake Iheme, here we hope to see schools of hippos, water birds and some of the animalsthat that come to wallow and not forgetting the Nile crocodile. Day Six: TRANSFER TO KIGALI - LAKE KIVU
Early morning breakfast, check out and travel to Iby`wacu cultural site. Enjoying the Kinyarwanda dance are some of things that we will enjoy plus more about the culture of Rwanda people including, marriage, life style, medicine, iron smelting and many others. Lunch en-route then Proceed to Lake Kivu. Check in at Lake Kivu Serena hotel. Dinner and Overnight at the hotel.

Day Seven: FULL DAY IN LAKE KIVU
After a long week of safari trip, this is the time to relax and embark of beach sports and activities such as kitting, gift shopping, sun and sand. Other fun games like beach soccer, volley ball, Golf and canoeing are part of what you enjoy according to your interests. All meals and overnight at the Lake Kivu Serena hotel.

Day Eight: Drive back to Kigali from Lake Kivu
Breakfast early then drive back to Kigali with stops at various memorial centres found en-route and Lunch. Arrive in Kigali early afternoon, chance availing do some souvenir shopping with the help of our driver guide and also visit other interesting sites not visited before. Overnight at (Kalisimbi hotel or Serena Kigali for Upgrade BB).

Airport transfer will be offered depending on time of your flight back home.
