Itinerary
Your arrival will be a warm welcome by our company representative. You will check in at your hotel then acclimatize. Briefing about your safari is also done today and final payments if any. Depending on time af arrival, you will be taken for a city tour to get an introduction of Uganda and the people. Overnight at Biraj Hotel if Budget BB or Mestil Hotel BB for upgraded luxury accommodation.
Early start after your breakfast to embark on the approximately 9-hour drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National forest park. Along the way you will stop at the equator to take photographs and purchase some crafts, plus stretching your legs and continue your journey to stop again for lunch. After lunch you will proceed with your journey as you will go through the beautiful scenery, rolling hills with terraces as you arrive in Kabale also called the Switzerland of Africa. Late afternoon arrive in Bwindi, check in for Dinner and Overnight at Buhoma Community Haven Cottages for budget or Buhoma Lodge for upgraded luxury accommodation.
Enjoy your breakfast and set out from your lodge with packed lunch as you head to the park headquarters at 7 am for briefing before you embark on Gorilla tracking in the thick mist Bwindi forest. Thereafter proceed for tracking which is unpredictable and mainly dependent on how far the gorillas go. Trekkers are allowed to spend one hour with the gentle giants in this time you could watch them play, feed, and take enough photos. The Batwa are an indigenous tribe that lived in the forest of the Virunga volcanoes and depended on it for livelihood before they were turned into national parks to help in conservation of the gorillas, golden monkeys, and other fauna and flora. They were hunter-gatherers and did an incredible job co-existing with the wildlife. Today you will meet some of the Batwa and they will take you through the forest and share how they lived and depended on the forest and survived attacks from the animals. This tour will take you through the Batwa trail which was developed together with Uganda wildlife authority to share their experience on how they co-existed with the wildlife and raised families in this jungle. The proceeds from this goes into a fund which is used to purchase land and build for the different families. After a morning breakfast, we will drive back to Kampala with packed lunches passing through the winding roads and beautiful scenery Uganda unveils, stop over at interesting places to enjoy your lunch and arrive in Kampala in the early evening. This marks the end of the safari and the airport transfer of today will be given to you by our friendly drivers at the time of your flight. If the airport transfer is late, then we shall also offer you a chance for a city tour to shop for souvenir around Kampala and also take you to Kampala’s famous and historical sites then drop you off to the airport in time for your flight and see you off.
