Akagera national park is located in the north east part of the magical Rwanda bordering Tanzania. The park covers total land of about 1,122 q km after It was reduced almost to 10%. It derives its name from River Kagera and the park is a true wonder on its own with vast plains, rolling highlands, wetlands, river and lakes define Akagera as one of the most scenic destinations with beautiful ecosystems and biodiversity.
Here our guide will be waiting for you at Kanombe International Airport, meet and greet then transfer to the hotel. (Kalisimbi hotel or Serena Kigali for upgrade – B.B). Depending on your time of arrival, we will take you through the beautiful Kigali as you are guided and briefed about your trip. Overnight at the Hotel.
Check out, morning breakfast drive to Park headquarters, this takes about 2 and half hours with chances of sighting wildlife such as Zebras grazing, Waterbucks, Cape buffaloes, Giraffes and Impalas on your way to the Lodge, we will check in at the lodge, lunch and embark on an afternoon boat ride at Lake Iheme, here we hope to see schools of Hippos, Water birds and some of the animalsthat that come to wallow and not forgetting the Nile crocodile. This day will bring you face to face with Rwanda’s best wildlife sighting. We will have early breakfast and have packed lunch and we embark on full day of wildlife experience, we travel to northern end of this park as we enjoy the nature and beauty of this magnificent park, have lunch in the plains and enjoy nature. Here we may be able to see Elands, Giraffes, Buffaloes and many others. This park also offers a chance of the big five since the rhinos and lions have been introduced to this beautiful conservation area. Dinner and overnight at the lodge – FB
Morning breakfast, check out and transfer to Kigali and lunch will be taken here. Here we will have a city tour, visiting the Kigali Convention Centre, Genocide Memorial Site, the Presidential Palace Museum. This tour will bring you face to face with Rwanda’s history and the 1994 genocide where many people were killed. However, the Convention Centre brings you to life and stage of Rwanda’s development rate being one of the very fast growing economies in the region. Here depending on your time of the flight, our driver guide will drop you at the airport and say farewells.
